Divorce Case, Custody Battle Takes Strange Twist for TV Host – Portland Oregon Divorce Attorney

July 14th, 2014

Divorce cases always have the potential to turn heated as the estranged couple can potentially battle over just about anything, whether it’s children, alimony or property distribution. Although not all divorce settlements get ugly, when they do, the battle can take many twists and turns.

According to recent reports, TV personality Sherri Shepherd has apparently changed her mind regarding the child custody side of her divorce settlement. Originally, the host of “The View,” had reportedly sought custody of her and her estranged husband’s unborn child that is due in August via surrogate.

However, according to recent reports, Ms. Shepherd now says she no longer wants custody of the child and does not want any ties to the child. Why the change of heart? According to reports, the child was conceived with her husband’s sperm but not her egg. She claims that the only reason her husband went ahead with the process was so he could divorce Ms. Shepherd and receive child support from her.

This is obviously an unusual case, but when it comes to divorce and custody issues, just about anything is possible.
